Influential music videos that have had an impact on society

When music companies produce a music video, they have to think of a number of different factors when thinking of a plot. Also, you have to consider the performers sponsors, for example if a performer is sponsored by a jewellery company then because the jewellery company pay the performer to wear their products then they will want their products shown in the music video so that the audience see the performer wearing it and therefore will want to buy it themselves.  

Moreover, there are a number of different music videos that influence society and the ones that are voted most influential are:

• Michael Jackson – Thriller
• OK Go 3 - Here It Goes Again 
• Britney Spears - Baby One More Time 
• A-Ha - Take On Me 
• Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody 

They have all had a big impact on society mainly because a lot of money has been poured into each one, especially thriller this is due to the fact Michael Jackson was a very popular artist and music companies wanted to create something special.  However, ‘Ok Go 3’ was influential because not a lot of money was put into it at all there was just a camera set up facing the running machines and they just filmed it all. This had an impact because of the costs and became popular through that.

This helps me when developing my own music video because this post shows the different types and videos that I like and it shows that you do not have to have loads of money to make a video, you can literally have a camera like the one below. So from this I will have an understanding of what can be added to my music video at a minimal cost.
